Preposition /b(e)-/
The prefix bə- (before consonants) or be- (before vowels) expresses “in, at, by, with”:

Preposition /best(e)-/
bestə- is a compound preposition meaning “inside of” (bə- + wəsT + ə):

Amharic uses postpositions (words that follow the noun) for spatial relations:
