Narrative — A Visit to a Restaurant

almaz inna kebbede wede migib bet hedu. migib bet-u beTam Tiru new — kehullu yišal migib bet new. asiTegabi “min yifellgal?” ale. almaz injera be weTT fellegeč. kebbede-m yasa tibs fellege. keza bunna TeTTu. migib-u beTam Tiru nebber. zare yiberdal; gibi-w-im moq nebber. kebbede “yih migib bet kehullu yifeTin asgelgilo yiseTTal” ale. almaz “awo, inna zare-m kehullu yišal migib new” aleč. hullet-um dek-imo bilu wede bet-aččew hedu.

Translation: Almaz and Kebbede went to a restaurant. The restaurant is very good — it is the best restaurant of all. The waiter said, “What would you like?” Almaz wanted injera with stew. Kebbede also wanted roasted meat. Then they drank coffee. The food was very good. It is cold today; the inside was warm. Kebbede said, “This restaurant serves the fastest of all.” Almaz said, “Yes, and today’s food is the best of all.” Both went home happy.
